Our 2023 Honoree

STAFF SERGEANT JESSE SMITH

SSG Smith has been an exemplary soldier throughout his military career. After a few troubling symptoms started interfering with his day-to-day activities, SSG Smith ended up in the emergency room for an evaluation. They ran several tests and determined that SSG Smith had Multiple Sclerosis with lesions affecting several areas of his brain. He has had a very quick progression that immediately rendered him unable to drive or work. He also needed to leave his apartment and move somewhere more handicapped-accessible. He is currently staying with his mother who is assisting with his care until his condition stabilizes. His unit Bravo Battery 3-112th FAR has been incredibly supportive and accommodating of SSG Smith.

On behalf of the Sergeant Samuel Nutter Organization, we encourage your support and thank you for being an invaluable part of this cause. You can participate and support by running in the race, making a donation, or becoming a sponsor. Whichever you choose to do, please choose to take action in honoring the legacy of SGT Nutter, during this year’s 19th Annual Sergeant Nutter 5K Run. SSNO is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and 100% of the proceeds will go towards the support of Staff Sergeant Smith.
